Who Is Rob?

I am a freelance self-shooting producer-director, camera operator and filmmaker based in Edinburgh, working across the UK and internationally. With nine years of experience, I specialise in creating compelling stories and striking visuals in documentary, sports and environmental content.

I’ve worked with renowned brands and organisations such as Red Bull, the R&A, and the Institute of Chartered Foresters, producing impactful films that resonate with audiences. My work spans a variety of formats, including promotional campaigns, branded content and documentaries.

I own and operate a versatile kit including the Sony FX6, professional lighting setups and drone equipment. Additionally, my background in remote Sub-Saharan fieldwork and global health policy informs a unique perspective in storytelling.

In 2025 I was awarded the Neville Shulman Award for Adventure Filmmaking by the Scientific Exploration Society’s Explored Awards, providing funding for his latest project The Ice We Didn’t Burn

Prior to my career as a filmmaker I spent almost a decade working in international development, including several years managing projects in rural Uganda.
