The snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains range on the Uganda/DRC border, known to early Greeks as the Mountains of the Moon, due to their white snow-capped appearance, were extensively climbed and photographed in 1906 by the Duke of Abruzzi’s expedition to the region. 120 years later, the snow fields are all but gone. It is likely that within the next decade, the last remnants of the ice will have vanished. Join Rob Waugh, filmmaker, who will share his new documentary about the loss of these mountains’ glaciers and how the loss of this ecosystem is already having dramatic and catastrophic effects on the flora, fauna and people who call the region their home.  An important story with some remarkable and beautiful images.
